Ahhhh

My head is swimming. There is just so much to do.

Forget my last post of no job whine. I GOTS A JOB. WOAH. AFTER MONTHS OF SEARCHING. There is a chance that it can be a complete scam. But for now I am living in bliss. I will be a screen capturer for Rockstar Games. I will play Grand Theft Auto and take still images of game play so customers will want to buy it. The pictures will appear on their website, on the back of the game, and in magazines.

But yea, it may be a scam. Basically, I went in for the interview and they liked me, wrote back that they want to do a trial period before accepting me into their company. This will last for about 4 weeks and is considered freelance. I will be paid a low amount but it will get me through rent, bills, and a bit of fun. If they decide that they like my work, then I get hired. On top of that, I can't start until 3 weeks from now.

Sounds kinda sketchy, right? I'm worried that really, they only need someone to work at their company for a few weeks, and completely lied about hiring me. Even if I do a good job, they won't hire me. They got what they needed with this "trial period" so why do they need me permanently?

Ugh. Perhaps I am over thinking, but even Paul said that this is really odd.

Well, until then, I will apply to more jobs. I'm not going to wait around for my job to start in 3 weeks. Damnit. I seriously need money because I just spent the last of savings on....

A APARTMENT.

YES YES. FINALLY. I will start moving tomorrow! It's in prospect park right next door the brooklyn museuem. It's a nice area and is one block away from the red and green express line! I don't even care that it's the size of a closet. It's cozy. Paul and I are going to paint it wonderful colors and will decorate it and it will be beautiful. Now, when we go to concerts, we can just hop on the subway and be in our room within a half hour.

oh oh speaking of concerts! I saw Mika yesterday! Oh god. He was spectacular in all his repetitive glory. Paul didn't know any of his songs but easily sang along to them because he says the same thing over and over again. AND TODAY IT RAINS AND TODAY IT RAINS AND TODAY IT RAINS x 289372432.

Damnit

Trying to find a job is so discouraging. I've been on so many interviews, applied to thousands of more jobs, and no one seems interested. I am so terrible at speaking. They ask me questions and I stumble and bunch up words and trip over every sentence. Ugh. I am getting a bit better, maybe? Just a bit.

I'm desperate to take any job that relates to photography. Anything. Although last week I was lucky enough to get two dream jobs interested. At least they interviewed me. That makes me feel good. Now, if only they would hire me.

So. Moving into the apartment next week (or at least trying to). What ever shall I do when my savings disappear? I'll be buried under rent and low pay. (no pay) Well, whats the use worrying about the future? When it happens, then I'll think of something.

I shall make a list of dreams:

1. Still photographer for film and television

2. Promotional shots for musicians and bands

3. Paid assistant to a wonderful and amazing photographer

4. Star in my own childrens television program.

5. Fine art photographer with plenty of shows in top galleries, published books, and sold work

Unfortunately none of those jobs really pay unless you make it into a agency or union. I don't care. I'll intern. Give me the experience and I'll build a wonderful portfolio. To get a job in the arts, you really need to intern first. It's necessary. Hopefully they will hire you after a few months. If not, then you find another internship and hope to get hired there.

It's a bleak world for a photographer. But, hell, I won't stop trying!

www.JuliaForrest.com

He's the artist you see you when feel like going to the mall. Perhaps you own his wonderful art on a COASTER. Or on a MUG. It's complete crap. There is nothing artistic about what he does.

Anyways.
Looking at the cover of the Kinkade DVD, made me realize just how SPOT ON the actor playing him was.

Real life:

Movie life:

Haaaaaaaa.
Arghhhhh I am so frustrated! Blahhhhhh!

I was talking to boyfriend Paul tonight and acting stupid probably and saying "hurray hurray concert, music, etc etc!" and I was like "ARE YOU EXCITED TO GO?!" and he was all LIKE LIKE "eh, I'll sure it'll be fun..." GRRRRR. GASP. NO. And he admitted he didn't really care for it.

Well okay I am a bit hurt, cause in order for him to go, I had to buy his ticket and pay for his train ride. I only did it because I thought he wanted to go! But now that I know he doesn't.. I feel like I'm making him go. I wish he told me sooner.. I already got his ticket. I feel embarrassed and stupid and lame for being so into concerts. Poor Paul who now is being forced to go. He said there is no way he'd go unless I pay for the train ticket too. So I'll be stuck with a ticket if I can't get the money in time for that. man I wish I had a job. Maybe my friend Mandy will come.. then I can give her the ticket and Paul will be free! Arghhh I feel terrible. I thought this would be FUN for ALL. Plus I actually secretly just wanted to see him... even though I see him all the time and we've only be apart for like.. 2 weeks. I'm so selfish.

Man I wish I didn't act like a 13 year old girl all the time. I'm sure this whole entry seems like it was typed by a annoying fangirl.

So I'll just end this with a fangirl picture then:

Blah. I wish I wrote in here more.

Well, things are good. I just took down my photography show. It seemed like it was barely up a week. All that hard work of a entire semester and it's all over. That's it. That. Was. It.

BUT IT'S OVER HELL YES IT'S OVER OH MY GOD I CAN BREATH FREELY AGAIN!!!!!!!!

I love art openings. Friday, Paul and I are going to 3. That means a hell lotta cheese and wine. I went to one today too. They had pizza! They fed me dinner! (oh yes, art is also at these art openings as well) And my friend Dan won 300 bucks! Holly shit! I want someone to hand over that money to me. I'd go to PARIS with all that money. Okay, well, no. I'd probably spend it on something nice WITH CONSIDERATION OF BILLS THAT RUIN ALL MY FUN.

Oh, and tomorrow there is a showing of some interesting Indian film and they will be serving Indian food to go with the movie and doing free Henna tattoos. mmmmmmmmm food.

AND THEN SATURDAY is the International Festival!! I lovelovelove this fair. There are all sorts of performances and delicious things from other countries. Ahhhh.

AND THEN SUNDAY is ski trip for only 5 bucks! That includes all the rental stuff and everything! I've never went skiing! Hooray!

So basically this is what Paul and I do every weekend. CT is so lame but we SEARCH. You have no idea what we go through to find out about events in this state. It's not so simple. But we find them. All of them. And we load up our weekend with so many activities. Then do school work. So much school work.

Boyfriend, I, and my work.

I have a website now kinda not really. It only has a few things on it, but more is coming real soon!! really really soon!

www.juliaforrest.com

I've been watching Flight of the Concords like CRAZY. oh god I love it so much. SO MUCH.

See, they are from New Zealand, as they've mentioned many a times in their tv show. And, like most New Zealanders, Bret Mckenzie was in the Lord of the Rings.

I think that perhaps I am the only one who is completely entertained by this:

<lj-embed id="8" />

AHHHHHHHHHH.

I have decided that my life dream (besides photography) would be to do childrens television.

I want to dress up in some awesome/embarrassing costume and jump around like I'm on speed while teaching kids good morals.
Paul and I were enjoying what little of a thanksgiving break we had in the city. We chose this nice little, out of the way, Indian restaurant. It was DELICIOUS.

And we were so tired from walking around and trying to find David Bowie. (yes, I'm a loser. He lives in NYC BUT NO I DON"T KNOW WHERE. But apparently he is often spotted in soho. He said in a interview he likes downtown much better then uptown and that he likes to go out alot. This doesn't really help in finding him, unfortunately.)

So, I get up to go to the bathroom, after we paid and everything. When I come back, Paul says,
"So, yea, we didnt find David Bowie.... but how about John Malkovich?"

SO RANDOM
but he was behind me
with a artsy lady
ready to order some Indian food at a table
AND I WAS ALL LIKE ZOMG TOTALLY DISTRACTED BY THE CELEBRITY!!!!11!!!!11111!!1!!!1
"
I really like the movie "Being John Malkovich and it's kinda funny cause I just saw "Burn After Reading" where he kills a manager of a gym! He is so weird! WEIRD. RANDOM.

and no i didn't say anything to him because that is rude. Maybe if he was walking down the street I would be all totally like, "Hello." but not in a restaurant.

...

so weird.
